Is My Career Over Because of my TBI?

After suffering an injury from a car accident, however mild or severe it may be, you must learn how to live life with your injury. It is important to remember that no matter how frustrated you become, some of these effects will only be temporary. Although, you may need to learn a ‘new normal.’

Initially, you may experience a period of denial where you’re unable to realistically assess what could be your reduced performance levels. Given my injury, I was no longer able to achieve my pre-injury performance where I had consistently exceeded expectations.

How to Survive The Gasparilla Pirate Invasion!

The Gasparilla Pirate Festival is a large parade and host of related community events celebrated almost every year since 1904 in Tampa. It is held in late January and hosted by Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla and the City of Tampa. This parade celebrates the apocryphal legend of José Gaspar (also known as Gasparilla), a mythical Spanish pirate who supposedly operated in Southwest Florida in the early 1800s.

The holiday is known for excessive drinking and partying in pirate attire. But don’t get swept up in all of the holiday festivities and be left without a designated driver.

Plan ahead. Use a car service to travel to and from the parade if you plan on drinking.

Be aware of your surroundings.

Be cautious of others. If you sense that someone is going to drive drunk – call them a cab or take their keys.

Do not let one day of fun end in a disaster for you or a loved one.
