Legal Team Work

September is finally here! “Plaintiff 101” will be available for purchase on Amazon, September 15th, 2015! As a special thanks to our supporters, we’re offering a discounted price of $14.95 for all purchases made on this day only!!!

Until then, you can preview part of Chapter 1 of my upcoming book, stressing the collaborative effort between attorney and client. Litigation is not the place for trial and error. Timely, effective communication between you and your lawyer is critical to successful litigation.

We’re hopeful that if you come away with one thing from this book, it will be the understanding that this will be a team effort between you and your attorney. If you mistakenly believe that it will all be your attorney’s responsibility and you will not be involved in the process, this would be a recipe for failure, or, at least, a lesser result. When your lawyer asks you to review your medical records, answer interrogatories or prepare for deposition or trial, he is not doing so simply to hear himself speak. He needs your assistance to prevail. To put it in perspective, imagine a successful dollar resolution to your case. Then, compute what you would need to earn per hour for each hour you spend preparing for the case. We would submit, it will potentially be a higher hourly rate than you have ever earned before or will ever earn in your lifetime. With that perspective, we can’t urge you enough to do the work which your attorney needs you to do.

Background Summary

September is finally here! “Plaintiff 101” will be available for purchase on Amazon, September 15th, 2015! As a special thanks to our supporters, we’re offering a discounted price of $14.95 for all purchases made on this day only!!!

Until then, you can preview part of the introduction to Chapter 2 of my upcoming book, detailing my professional and educational background:

While this is a book about my experiences with the legal process, it may be helpful for the reader to understand my educational and philosophical background. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Boston University and two Master’s Degrees in Business Administration and Cost Estimating and Analysis. As a Mathematics major, my orientation was that solutions were either correct or incorrect. There really was no gray area. There is right and then there is wrong. The square root of 100 can only be 10. Not “about 10” or “approximately 10,” but 10.

My Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) program background in college, followed by a career as an officer in our United States Air force was wholly consistent with my mathematics orientation. Answers simply couldn’t be both right and wrong at the same time. My mindset was more in keeping with that of a mathematician or engineer.
