Karen Mertes, author of “Plaintiff 101,” is also the founder of the non-profit Fulfill Your Destiny.
Tracy and Stephen Weston, the owners of HydroShield of Tampa Bay, are the recipients of Fulfill Your Destiny‘s Business Builder Grant. The grants are awarded to proven entrepreneurs who have experienced life changing events and are ready to take their business to the next level—while also giving back to the community.
In 2014, Tracy became legally blind and had to leave her corporate job as a CFO. After being told that Tracy would never be able to work again, the couple decided to start their own business. HydroShield of Tampa Bay is a business that provides protective sealants for surfaces such as granite, glass, tile, and all-natural stones.
This grant will help Tracy and Stephen purchase additional equipment and hire their first full-time employee. The couple also makes it a priority to give back to the community by donating to the Children’s Cancer Society through the Chick-fil-A 5K Walk.
“One of our greatest joys as business owners is the chance to be a testimony to our children and others that when a family works together, you can be greater than the challenges before you,” said Tracy.
